Reviews from users
Adam Schmidt (Brute): The quick version doesn't do the download version justice. On the other hand, the game itself makes it quite difficult to enjoy. I would like to constantly upgrade my ships rather than swap between 3 and max at 7. The "Super" powerup is amazing, but is ultimately becomes worthless due to when it drops. Overall, a good idea but poor execution. I rather not play past 10 levels, but I did anyway.
Shannon Coleman: Ok so several months later and I still really love this game. If you're into this game like I enjoy it, I do put money in and yes it does make getting through tough lvls much easier. It's frustrating, fun, and very challenging. I'd also say it helps with focus too. The game does bug here and there. So make it a point to go to settings and save your progress as you go. Especially after purchases and upgrades. Finally, the developers are easy to contact and make things right.
A Google user: Update: I started out loving this game. Now there are just too many bugs to make it fun. I feel like I am sending feedback, bug reports constantly. They keep updating with new features without fixing the old bugs (they do fix a lot of bugs, but tons more pop up). They change things about the game without telling the players and they do have a notification system, don't use it. I love the graphics, being a part of a great clan! The game is so hard to advance in.
A Google user: It gets a little frustrating but you CAN progress without paying. Excellent graphics and variety. Re-post: you will eventually have to purchase some things to progress to higher levels but worth it if you can afford it. (think 2 xboxes AND a playstation) Not happy with the EXPONENTIAL increases for the next reward, pay or not. Still, 5 stars for everything else.
A Google user: A very great game to play, amazing quality, but proves more of a challenge than it's worth for some. Once an alien hits you once, whether by spawning in or dropping bombs, you either watch an add to continue or start over from the beginning. Would be fairer if you had "lives" rather than a "one hit and you're down" type of mechanic. Great mechanics, but needs work.
A Google user: Super addicting, which is what I'm looking for. So far, so good. Very responsive and rewarding. Still waiting for the challenges, of which won't open until later on. Begins on medium and you apparently have to beat the basics before you can play Hard. Still trying to figure out why the game fires constantly for you, thinking that later on I will have to tap to fire for myself, or maybe the makers just know most phone screens won't respond accurately that fast. Any way, I love it so far!
A Google user: The game is really fun and addictive, but the game quickly shows its true face as a cash grab. The cost of microtransactions is legitamately insulting, and past the first 40 or so levels, it becomes a slow grind to keep your ships powered up enough to continue without them. Occasional cheap enemy attacks from off-screen and below often make the game turn frustrating in a hurry. You can watch a 30 second add to get one extra life, but that's it.
A Google user: It's incredibly fun. But where it suffers is its need for microtransactions. You can't buy higher level ships with gold, you have to use the crystals, which you get not often, or you can pay a stupidly high amount of money. The highest level ship uses a currency that you can only get from loot boxes. Higher level bosses almost require these high level ships too. Despite all this, it's a great game to waste time with.
A Google user: Good game. It constantly challenges you: the further you get, the harder it gets. The controls are very simple and easy to use. The developer is really on the ball: updates are posted quickly and "somewhat regularly" in an effort to eliminate bugs and defects, instead of taking weeks or months to fix a reported problem. My only complaint would be the lack of an in-game help screen explaining the effects of each of the perks and upgrades.
A Google user: It's ok, a little boring though. Update: It has an extreme amount of adds. It constantly reboots itself, most of the time when you're on the 2nd to last or last level which is 2hen they are at their most difficult. Hard to get ammo boosters during game play at times. I went through the first 5 of 10 levels with level 1 firepower. Don't bother with this game. Upgrades for ships get very expensive. I paid 1000 gold for a bullet upgrade from level 1 to level 2 on the very first ship you use. The next upgrade jumps to 20,000 gold. That is utterly rediculous for a 1 star fighter.
