Reviews from users
Dani Bruce: Honestly, since I can't download every song on Apple Music or Google Play, this app is a life saver. It works super well and it's very easy to navigate. If you don't mind taking the extra few minutes to convert files to mp3, this app is perfect for anyone looking to grow their song library and use it offline. I've used this app many times in airplane mode and while driving through dead zones and it still works flawlessly. It's very easy to put songs into a Playlist and even rename them. Awesome!
Kerry Wang: Trying this out after the deprecation of Google Play Music. This is almost there. I don't understand why it doesn't give you a choice to select a specific folder to scan for media, though. I have only a specific folder for Music in my Dropbox. There are sound files in other directories with other purposes (e.g. recordings, sound clips for video editing projects, etc.). I really don't need them imported into my music library.
Matt Kimura: Really great replacement app for Google Play Music. It definitely gets the job done equally, if not better in some cases. I like how playlists can hold more than 1,000 songs unlike Google Play Music. My only complaint is there's no duplication checking when adding songs to playlists, so you can end up with more than one copy of songs in your playlists. Also sometimes I tap a song by accident and it immediately kills my on-going queue with no way to undo that. But those are very minor issues.
Evan Aronson: Overall the app has great potential, but it's obvious that they lack the resources to keep up with the demand of their service. For example, basic functionality is non-existent or broken. I used Google Drive to host my music and I have a specific folder structure that helps me manage the size and diversity of it. The problem is that anytime a song or album is moved to another folder, the folder index is never updated for the folder. This renders the folder view worthless.
A Google user: I really love this app. I have a long list of specific songs I wouldn't hear just by streaming, so being able to just play the song I want anytime anywhere is really great. I also love the offline support. I've started to have a few problems with the app as of late, though. The widgets don't open the app when I tap on it. I'm just not sure if it's the app specifically that's malfunctioning or it's my phone
A Google user: I purchased the full version and used for about a week. In my opinion, volume equalization between tracks is a requirement for any paid music app. Jarring volume differences between tracks is downright annoying. But what I find more annoying is the volume normalization feature in this app, which is constantly adjusting the volume in the middle of a track. I've been using ReplayGain for years to solve this problem, and lacking ReplayGain support in CloudPlayer, the volume normalization is a poor substitute, and that's a deal breaker for me. The are also so UI quirks that I find irritating. Overall a decent player, but it'd be a lot better if it had better volume normalization.
A Google user: Great app that does exactly what I need and expect it to do plus extra!! Loads music from both cloud and local storage making this an all-in-one, go to player for music and audio. It allows the user to download media for offline use right within the app, making it practical and easy to save data. While the 1-time payment of ~$8 feels a little high for what you get, I prefer this over a subscription and am happy to support these great devs!!! Keep up the amazing work!! ?????
A Google user: As someone moving on from the now decommissioned Microsoft Groove app, I needed something that could play my library of music stored on OneDrive. To say that CloudPlayer fit the bill would be an understatement. This is a fantastic music player well worth the price with a ton of features. It does everything I need and more. The fact that it also integrates with Android Auto is a huge bonus as well.
A Google user: I love this player. I'm glad they followed Material Design standards instead of trying to make it "special" with some stupid skin. This player seems to work the way I expect it to, and there was very little learning curve. It also has a ton of nice little features...I keep thinking to myself "it would be great if it could....OH WAIT IT DOES". I love the idea of cloud playlists...but I'm sure as heck not paying $3 a month for a feature that worked in the past. Maybe, MAYBE 0.50 a month, but certainly not $3. At that price, I'll just pay for Plex. Why can't I back it up to my own cloud storage? A big black mark on an otherwise fantastic player.
A Google user: I'll keep it short and sweet. My favorite music player for the past few years. Nice sleek design. Easy to navigate. Ability to change metadata. I'm sure other players have similar features but of the ones I've tried this is certainly my favorite. A few paid features but not mandatory just some extra cool stuff. If you haven't tried it why not? And if you're using the default player you're definitely missing out. Could go but I'll get it speak or rather play for itself. 5 out of 5 because in the rare instances I've had an issue the regular updates iron right out.
